Following her childhood in the charming town of Deming Washington, Melissa Taylor broke into a world of seemingly endless prospects when she moved to Vancouver British Columbia in 2001. Heavy with desire to create and contribute to Vancouver’s already dynamic fashion scene, Melissa quickly climbed the fashion ladder as a top hairstylist in the city. For five years Melissa worked relentlessly to provide local designers with the world’s latest hair styles, and brought a new vibrancy to both their photo shoots and fashion shows. With so much contact in Vancouver’s growing fashion scene, Melissa’s desire for a greater and more direct contribution to fashion became apparent. After a summer of aid work in her favorite country of Mexico, Melissa returned to Vancouver refreshed and inspired to create a line of clothing entitled Love, Deming. With fashion and design imparted to Melissa throughout her upbringing almost as religion, she quickly and quite naturally surfaced as one of Vancouver’s hottest new designers.
